The Gemona Paragliding World Cup, held from 25 July to 1 August with launch from Monte Cuarnan, consisted of seven tasks over the mixed terrain of the Julian Alps and the Friuli plains. According to the official PWCA report, the fourth task was the longest of the week, at 97.1 km with several valley crossings that completely reshuffled the race. The seventh and final task, 70 km long, was flown in just 1h30 at an average of almost 47 km\/h; it was won by Ferdinand Vogel, with Daphn\u00e9e Ieropoli fastest among the women and Flymaster the best team of the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
