Niviuk unveils the Niviuk Rocket R, its new offering for the competition elite. After months of development, the manufacturer says the harness was designed using rigorous computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis to minimise parasitic drag. The aim is clear: to transfer the brand’s competition experience into an aerodynamic profile of maximum efficiency.
Niviuk Rocket R architecture focused on high performance
According to the manufacturer, the chassis of the Niviuk Rocket R is a direct evolution of the architecture used in the Drifter 2, redesigned to offer a more honest connection with the air mass. The designers say the new structural geometry ensures a progressive response, essential for maintaining control and stability on technical tasks where every second counts.
Niviuk Rocket R specifications and materials
The structure of the Niviuk Rocket R uses materials chosen to optimise weight without compromising the structural integrity needed for high-performance flying. The team highlights that the harness is available in three sizes (S, M, L), with a total weight — including protector and accessories — of around 7.5 kg in size M, a competitive figure for a harness in this segment.

Airflow management and ergonomics
Niviuk has focused much of its work on optimising the whole system to improve overall glide:
- Cutting-edge aerodynamics: the brand promises that the design minimises seams and avoids deformation. According to its engineers, the harness surface stays taut across the whole speed range, a critical aspect when flying accelerated.
- Volume management: the ventilation system integrates Nitinol rods. According to Niviuk, this ensures the fairing keeps its volume and shape constant even through areas of strong lift, eliminating internal turbulence.
- Flight ergonomics: the cockpit has been configured to improve visibility and access to instruments. In addition, the side reserve compartments have been integrated to strike a balance between the accessibility needed in an emergency and the aerodynamic cleanliness of the profile.
The new standard for elite XC?

The Niviuk Rocket R positions itself as a tool designed for long days in the air, aiming to conserve the pilot’s physical energy. With this harness, the brand is not only looking for performance, but for total symbiosis between pilot input and wing. We will have to wait and see how it performs in competition to confirm whether it becomes the high-precision platform the development team promises.
