The new performance Hike&Fly, XC- and Sports Class wing is based on UP’s popular Trango XC3, with a number of significant improvements, including a completely redesigned riser system with toggles for rear-riser pitch control.
At UP explain that the new Trango X-Race shares aerofoil and planform with the XC3, but has been completely revised inside, making for a more solid, “truer” shape not least when buffeted by turbulence at high speeds.
The Trango X-Race has reduced the total weight in 400g (M size), making it a good choice for hike&fly XC lovers and also X-Alps competitors. “UP is keen to recruit athletes to help demonstrate the wing’s abilities in next year’s Red Bull event; do get in touch if you’re going”.
