AirDesign has refreshed its entry-level range with The BoxR, a seat harness that the brand describes as designed to accompany the pilot “from ground handling to the first cross-country flights”, without giving up comfort or safety, according to its product sheet.

The BoxR weighs between 2.7 kg (size S) and 3.0 kg (size XL) and is certified to NfL 2-565-20 / EN 1651 up to 120 kg of equipped weight. It comes as standard with the AirPillow Max inflatable protector (32 G peak impact), and schools can opt for the FoamPillow Max (34 G), a foam alternative that does not need to be inflated every day. The front reserve container is detachable through a quick-release system — without having to undo the entire harness — with lightweight reserve bridles that release with a carabiner or a lark’s head loop, lightening the setup for ground-handling practice. The harness is completed with a colour-coded 4-point attachment system, depth-adjustable seat and storage compartments (side pockets, under-seat pocket and instrument deck).
“Every flight is a unique experience. With a simple, effective harness, the pilot can focus completely on themselves, their wing and the sky. That is what The BoxR is designed for”, explains Alexis Coudurier, AirDesign’s harness designer, in the product sheet.

New headquarters in Switzerland and changes at the top
The launch coincides with the brand’s most important corporate reorganisation in its recent history. Since January 1, 2026, AirDesign operates under a new parent company, AirDesign Gliders AG, based in Wolfenschiessen (canton of Nidwalden, Switzerland), which concentrates international logistics. The French subsidiary, AirDesign Europe, keeps expanded offices in La Terrasse (Isère), in charge of design, sales, marketing and European logistics, according to the brand’s legal notice.

At the head of the new stage is Michael Witschi, a Swiss pilot with experience in the Paragliding World Cup (PWC) circuit and the Red Bull X-Alps — he managed to land on the Monaco raft — and founder of the Eigertour hike & fly race. Witschi joined AirDesign as an investor-partner and, according to the team page on the brand’s website, holds the roles of chief financial officer (CFO) and chairman of the board. Martin Gostner, co-founder of AirDesign alongside designer Stephan Stieglair, continues as chief executive officer (CEO) of the company.
