The Argentine Paragliding Championship, known as the CAP, had two official rounds over the year. Each round has its own overall winner and, at the end, the results of both are averaged to decide the new Argentine Champion, as well as the winners and podiums of the categories that follow the main class: Serial, Sport, Standard, Women and Senior (a category for “feathered friends” over 50).

The first round was held in the province of La Rioja from 1 to 8 April, organised by the ARVL club (Asociación Riojana de Vuelo Libre), with seven tasks flown out of seven possible days. The skies of La Rioja — where the World Cup was held on Argentine soil in 2021 — brought together more than 60 pilots from across the country, with Ignacio Ortiz (Gin Boomerang 12) taking the overall win, followed by Álvaro Lucero (Ozone Enzo 3) in 2nd and Michel Guillemot (Ozone Enzo 3) in 3rd.

The second and final round, where everything was decided, took place in Tucumán from 16 to 23 September at the classic Loma Bola launch. Organised by the Club Aconquija Vuelo y Aventura, it brought together more than 80 pilots from across the country, plus Mexican pilot Yezmin Cannan, in what was, to date, the Argentine event with the largest presence of Submarine harnesses and the new two-liner C wings, including the Photon, Artik R, Vega 6, Bonanza 3 and LT2.

Five tasks were flown out of seven possible. The first was cancelled after several level 2 and level 3 reports away from the relief due to a strong southerly wind, and so was the last one, which could have been a spectacular final duel between first and second (1st Hernán Pitocco and 2nd Álvaro Lucero). It could not happen because the cloud layers did not rise above launch level, and the estimated time for them to do so would not allow a valid task, so the task committee decided to cancel it. That gave Pitocco victory at the Loma Bola Open and, on accumulated points across both rounds, the Argentine Champion title to Álvaro Lucero.
