The paragliding scene has a singular new player. Based in Vence, with its operational base on the ridges of Gréolières, Aerotech is a new paraglider brand conceived by Pierre-Yves Alloix. He is no newcomer: Alloix has more than three decades in the air, has signed historic wings for Airwave and Escape Gliders, led Supair’s design department for years, and co-authored the FFVL’s Paracheck inspection protocol.

Aerotech debuts with a clear and transparent premise called Premium Access™: design solid wings, cut out middlemen’s margins and offer new equipment for what you currently pay for used gear. The launch range focuses on two workhorses: the A1 solo wing and the A42 tandem.

Aerotech A1

The philosophy: what the workshop teaches you not to break

Pierre’s proposal was not born on an isolated screen, but on the floor of the maintenance workshop. After watching hundreds of canopies age, Alloix has stripped these wings of superfluous complexity to prioritise structural longevity and trim stability, while optimising ease of inflation.

  • No artificial mark-ups: direct sales put a brand-new EN-A at €1,990 and a commercial tandem at €2,490.
  • Proven materials: construction designed to withstand abrasion and intensive inflation cycles on aggressive launches, with internal architecture reinforced at key load points.
  • Circular service: the brand backs its wings with its own technical centre, offering inspections and maintenance at half price for its customers.

The first two models

Aerotech A1 (school and progression / EN-A)

A wing developed for schools and novice pilots looking for a calm transition, without the heaviness of the basic wings of the past.

Aerotech A42
  • Behaviour: according to the manufacturer, the A1 rises progressively, with no tendency to overshoot in strong wind or hang back in light breeze. In thermals it transmits the lift with noble damping, forgiving control errors and keeping a long brake travel before the stall point.
  • Range and price: certified EN-A in 3 sizes to cover the full range of school and first solo-flight weights, with prices starting at €1,990.

Aerotech A42 (professional tandem / EN-B)

A tool designed specifically for tandem professionals and intensive commercial flying.

  • Architecture: 42 m² that balance immediate lift at low speed — vital for launching in nil wind with clumsy passengers — with an efficient glide when loaded. According to Aerotech, the handling feels direct yet progressive, aiming to reduce physical fatigue after back-to-back tourist flights throughout the day.
  • Versions: available in an STD version (fabrics with maximum abrasion resistance) and a lighter EL version, from €2,490.

The view from launch

Aerotech’s arrival touches a nerve in today’s free flight: the steady rise in equipment prices. Seeing a designer of Pierre-Yves Alloix’s calibre bet on a channel without middlemen, backed by his own workshop and focused on real durability rather than marketing trends, is a refreshing jolt. If the A1 and the A42 prove in the air the honesty they promise on paper, many schools and professionals will have good reason to rethink their budgets.
