Until the arrival of the UP Torre, if you wanted to fly an Ultralite Products wing in the Sport class, your option was the great Trango X (an excellent 2.5-liner). But the market was crying out for pure two-line technology, and UP has responded not with an evolution, but by redesigning absolutely everything from scratch. The Torre was born with a very clear goal: to push the upper limit of the C class for pilots who want to go “full gas” on their cross-country flights.

UP Torre: the three technical keys that make the difference

What makes the Torre special is not just that it has fewer lines. Its engineering team (backed by computational fluid dynamics, CFD) has packed three remarkable innovations into this profile:

UP Torre is the first Ultralite Products paraglider with winglets
  • Here come the winglets! 🪶 It is the first wing in UP’s history with tip fins. What are they for? They dramatically improve directional stability. That means that when you are fully accelerated, the wing runs on rails. They also stabilise spins and make the recovery clean and docile.
  • Ultra-rigid shark nose (N3D + FSS): the leading edge combines negative 3D shaping to prevent wrinkles with a system of internal rods supporting both the front and rear of the profile. In plain English: the profile refuses to deform, keeping a superb glide even in turbulent air.
  • Real rear-riser control: as a pure two-liner, turbulence on transitions is managed directly from the B-risers. You can dampen surges and pitch the wing into the airmass without losing any performance or glide, turning every little bubble into altitude.

How does the UP Torre behave up there? (First impressions)

The UP Torre stands out for short, direct and very responsive brakes, typical of UP

Team pilots who are already testing it thoroughly highlight that inflation and launch are very progressive, just like a conventional wing, with no tendency to overshoot or hang back.

Once in the air, the Torre stands out for short, direct and very responsive brakes, typical of UP. In thermals it behaves almost intuitively: it bites into the lift and centres itself naturally. Its pitch stability is outstanding; the wing stays over your head soaking up the hits from strong thermals, so you can fly for hours on end without ending up with exhausted arms.

And here’s one for performance lovers: in accelerated glides head-to-head with the current queens of the category (such as the Ozone Photon), the Torre holds its own tooth and nail, even showing a touch more top speed.

UP Torre two-liner paraglider in flight

Who is the UP Torre paraglider for?

  • The UP Torre is not for everyone. It is the perfect machine if you are an ambitious cross-country pilot, log plenty of hours a year and want to make the jump into the world of two-liners with the safety backing of an EN-C certification. If you are coming from a high EN-B or a classic three-line C, this will be your magic carpet for breaking your personal records.

One detail to bear in mind: as with any two-liner, it does not allow the traditional B-line stall for a rapid descent, so UP advises mastering the spiral dive to escape from clouds. It does, however, allow stable big ears, something very rare and very welcome in this type of design.

UP Torre colour combinations

The wing is already available to order in three striking colour combinations (White-Upred, Upred-Gold and Sky-Lime).

Update, October 2026: UP has since presented a lightweight two-liner that shares much of the Torre’s DNA. Read our first look at the UP Paragliders Cerro, which we examined at the Coupe Icare.
